Always Completely Clean your Lint Filter!! |
So how many of you out there properly cleans your lint filters? We can imagine everyone does from time to time. But if you use dryer sheets, do you really clean it?? Dryer sheets can cause a small film to develop over the filter that can significantly reduce the life of your dryer. and most importantly, this film is invisible to the naked eye and can even increase the possibility of overheating and even fires. Try this - Remove your lint filter, clean off the visible debris, then run water through the filter. If the water runs through the mesh unobstructed, then your probably OK. If not the water will "pond" or "puddle" and will not pass through the filter. And you really thought it was clean huh? Even if the water does run through the mesh, it is good practice to simply use a mild soap with hot water and a small brush (even a toothbrish) and scrub the filter. This takes only a minute or two. When finished, run water through it again and watch the difference! By doing this you can significantly increase the life of your dryer and decrease the possibility of fire and needing our services!. |
