Bay Leaf Fire located in northern Wake County near Raleigh, NC. Our Professional Firefighters consist of both volunteer and career, and we are uniquely qualified and trained to provide the highest level of emergency services available to our community. Our Profile: The 84 Professional Volunteer and Career Firefighters of the Bay Leaf Fire Department operate out of three stations and proudly protect over 23,600 people living in an area of over 36 square miles, representing a total property value over $5.34 billion. Bay Leaf is a private, non-profit, IRS 501(C3) organization governed by our own bylaws and managed by an elected Board of Directors. We provide fire protection to our insurance district through a contract with Wake County, N.C. and under the guidelines of the North Carolina Department of Insurance. We have an ISO class rating of 5. We now protect over 15 million square feet of both residential and commercial property. Our members participate in the North Carolina Firefighter's Certification program, as well as the First Responder - Defibrillator program.
